We’re writing to groups of members about the range of retirement support that’s available – including paid-for retirement advice whether you’re eligible for retirement or not – so you can build a retirement plan that’s right for you.

We’re writing to members of the legacy DB sections in stages over the next 18 months, starting with members of the legacy HPF sections in July 2026. 

We recently sent a letter to all members about our plans for the ARP over the next few months and years. Please look out for your copy and take a moment to read it through.

The most important points to remember are:

• None of the planned changes will negatively impact your ARP benefits.
• The changes we’re planning form part of our long-term aim to secure members’ benefits in full.

The letter is for your information only – you don’t need to take any action. However, we’ve published a series of Q&As to address queries we think members might have. We’ll also add more 'Q&As' as we move through the various stages outlined in the letter so do revisit every now and then.
